ABOUT THE MOVIE:

At Vince Lombardi High School in Southern California, good looking star quarterback Tom Roberts can't understand why girls don't seem interested in him. He doesn't know in his unawareness that it's because he is socially awkward i.e. he's boring. Tom turns to the school's "fixer" Eaglebauer to help him get the girl of his dreams, Riff Randell, Tom further unaware that Riff's best friend, proverbial good girl Kate Rambeau, is interested in him herself. Besides not being interested in Tom in his awkwardness, Riff, the school's unofficial DJ, is too focused on trying to get tickets to the upcoming Ramones concert in being what she considers the biggest Ramones fan in the world. She not only wants to get tickets, but to speak to them to show them the song she wrote and thinks would be perfect for them to perform. Riff is seen as the primary disruptor at the school by the administration, the school having gone through a series of short term principals who need to quit the result of nervous breakdowns in dealing with the anarchy caused by Riff and the other students. The latest just hired principal, Miss Togar, is determined to quash what she sees as the source of the problem, rock 'n' roll music, the Ramones only the face of her opposition.—Huggo

LITTRELL with Sophie DeFrench, Kristina Sharpe and DJ Stylistic

LITTRELL with Sophie DeFrench, Kristina Sharpe and DJ Stylistic

Indianapolis’ own LITTRELL is excited to announce an epic hometown performance at the White Rabbit Cabaret happening on May, 23rd, 2024. Support acts include Sophie DeFrench, Kristina Sharpe, and DJ Stylistic. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $24. 21 and over only.

Dark and ethereal, LITTRELL’s brand of dark pop/alt rock/trip hop is the most arresting and original music you’re likely to find this year or any other. Their songs offer an experience that’s hypnotic and deeply meaningful. The White Rabbit show will feature a five-piece lineup consisting of Lindsay Littrell on vocals, Garrett Langebartels on lead guitar, Scotch Swango (of November Swim Club) on second guitar, Steve Bradley (of Kingflower) on drums, and Liz Legge (of gliiitches) on bass. Early indications predict a night of beyond-epic original music with the power to move every soul in the room.

Opening for LITTRELL will be high-value singer-songwriters Sophie DeFrench and Kristina Sharpe, who will both be performing with full bands. DJ Stylistic will kick off the evening and be spinning between sets. Every savvy music fan in Indianapolis will be there, too, officially making this a night to remember.

For tickets, click here! Early bird tickets are automatically 15% off until April 1.

Join the LITTRELL Patreon community for special patron-priced tickets!

For music, media, and interview requests, please visit https://thisislittrell.com or email mgmt@thisislittrell.com.

ABOUT LITTRELL:

Dark and ethereal, LITTRELL’s brand of dark pop/alt rock/trip hop is the most arresting and original music you’re likely to find this year or any other. The Indianapolis/LA-based group excels at being compelling, cinematic, and unforgettable. Core members Lindsay Littrell (lead vocals, keyboards, synths, percussion, songwriting, production) and Garrett Langebartels (lead guitar, bass, synths, percussion, engineering, production) have found something that’s both gritty and magical in the way their creative personalities intertwine that will quickly pull you into their often-hypnotic world and make you want to stay.

LITTRELL has already released a string of singles, the most recent being “Love Songs,” which dropped in February 2024. Much new music is in the works, as Lindsay Littrell (they/them) is a prolific and productive songwriter with a lot to say. Their artistry sits upon a lifetime of influences. They began their journey young surrounded by early contemporary Christian music as the child of a Tennessee preacher and later came under the spell of secular greats like Prince, Janet Jackson, Sting/The Police, Rickie Lee Jones, Radiohead and Meshell Ndegeocello. Lindsay has the rare ability to combine their inspirations, build on them, and create music that sounds like no one but themself.

Garrett Langebartels (he/him) comes from a musical family in Indiana. He was drawn to the guitar and songwriting as a small child and began his engineering career on a sketchy recording setup as a teen. His central genres are blues, folk, and indie rock but he’s been molded in one way or another by everything from bluegrass to rap. He’s a skilled recordist and multi-instrumentalist who makes an ideal partner for Lindsay. As a unit, the two musicians are deep and inventive. They connect in all the right places and complement in all the others.

Musically, LITTRELL has been compared to Kate Bush, Lana del Ray, and Portishead but to sum them up so simply is to leave a lot out. Their music is honest, human, powerful, vulnerable, and raw. It invites listeners to go inside of themselves to see what they find. The songs are gutsy, gifted, and show an intense commitment to authentic expression.

Taken as a whole, LITTRELL stands poised for a major breakout. They’re making the music the world needs right now and fearlessly giving it to us all. Fans of smart, sensual, and emotive new music need to discover LITTRELL at once and follow where they lead. You’ll be glad you did.

ABOUT SOPHIE DEFRENCH:

Add Midwest noir, metaphor, and soul together, and you might find artist Sophie DeFrench spinning in the middle. A prolific songwriter, Sophie uses kaleidoscopic layers to reveal in her music both the delicacy and the hurt of human experience; listeners find in her someone who understands. Be sure to follow Sophie’s glow as she lights the way through song and storytelling. Sophie, who works on some of the vibiest collabs you can find, will be backed by a full band as she brings her stunning songs to us live.

ABOUT KRISTINA SHARPE:

Kristina Sharpe is an incredible singer, songwriter, classically-trained pianist, record producer, and mixing engineer. Her combination of classical piano wizardry, effortless vocals and tactful storytelling have all the makings of success. Kristina released her album Been There in 2023 and will be bringing her dark, moody, and utterly cool work to the stage, backed by the distinctive alt. rock/grunge band Sunset Etc.

ABOUT DJ STYLISTIC:

Not sticking to the norm, Stylistic gives his audience a full spectrum of genres during his sets, ranging from Hip Hop, RnB, Neo Soul, House Music, Techno, Funk n Soul Reggae and much more. His modern stylish style captivates and engages his audience. Stylistic takes his craft seriously by studying the greats, taking his audience through a journey through music by finding ways to combine a wide variety of genre and blending them together to make his own composition. DJ Stylistic has worked with everyone from Naughty by Nature and SWV to Jason Derulo and Kesha and his long list of clients include the Indiana Pacers and the Chreece Music Festival.

FAQ:
What do you mean by “misfit”? We mean someone who doesn’t fit the mold and we’re inclusive about the diverse experiences that can create that feeling. This includes, but is certainly not limited to: growing up as a the outcast, having a crazy family, unusual upbringing, wild life experiences and choices, personal upheaval because of DNA surprise, etc. You’re part of the community and we welcome you.

What exactly happens in the Misfit Variety Show?
The features standup, storytelling, a character-type act, and sometimes a guest expert. The audience also submits stories that are read anonymously (and lovingly).

What’s with the Pre-Show?
We bring together the Misfits, so we want to give you a chance to mingle. We create a social atmosphere so no matter if you come alone or with a group, you’ll make new friends (if you want! Introverts, don’t worry, no forced socialization). Also we have wellness experts on hand for handy tips on staying sane because it’s not easy being weird in this world!

What have people said about the show?
“A celebration of our own origin stories, no matter how super or complex they are. “
“Out of left field and very entertaining. And I like weird stuff.”
“An open place to joke about everyone's story."
“Made me feel like I wasn't alone."
“Absolute blast.”

Can I come alone? Yes! Here's what a recent audience member said about that: "Definitely a good atmosphere for a solo person, everyone was very welcoming and friendly but also not overwhelming."

Will comedians make fun of me? It's a positive-vibes show. As one audience members said point blank: "You won't be a target at this show."
