Comedians take the stage posing as accomplished authors reading from their most recent works.

Featuring: Sam Griswold, Pauline Shypula, Jonathan Pfendler, Stephen Vincent Giles, Gwen Sunkel, and guests

Authors* has been running once a month at the White Rabbit Cabaret in Indianapolis, IN since June of 2014 and has participated in the Philly Sketchfest, IndyFringe and Crossroads Comedy Festivals as well as making appearances in Cincinnati, Oh, Louisville, KY, Fort Wayne, IN, Detroit, MI, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA and St. Louis, MO.Authors* showcases a central cast with local guests and every evening features a unique lineup of characters. The show is strange, sometimes dark, often ridiculous and always hilarious.

ABOUT RIVER:

River Butcher is a Los Angeles-based standup comic, actor, and writer. His first half-hour special "A Different Kind of Dude'' debuted on Comedy Central's Youtube channel and was called "a masterclass in culture war commentary" by Esquire.com. The special also garnered the title of "Some of the Best Jokes of 2022 So Far." River recently wrote and produced on the FX pilot "Belated," previously wrote for "A League of Their Own," and created/starred in/wrote the critically acclaimed and GLAAD award-nominated "Take My Wife." You may have also seen them as nonbinary standup comic LB Brady on "Good Trouble" and Adam Conover's sibling on "Adam Ruins Everything" or queer dinner guest Denim in the hit "Friendsgiving." They've done stand-up all over the country, the globe, and the screen, including Ellen, Conan, Comedy Central, and HBO.

Authors* has been running once a month at the White Rabbit Cabaret in Indianapolis, IN since June of 2014 and has participated in the Philly Sketchfest, IndyFringe and Crossroads Comedy Festivals as well as making appearances in Cincinnati, Oh, Louisville, KY, Fort Wayne, IN, Detroit, MI, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA and St. Louis, MO.Authors* showcases a central cast with local guests and every evening features a unique lineup of characters. The show is strange, sometimes dark, often ridiculous and always hilarious.

Sam Tallent is a comedian, novelist and host of the Chubby Behemoth Podcast.

For the last decade, he has performed more than 45 weekends per year in North America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

His acclaimed debut novel, Running The Light, heralded as the definitive book on standup comedy, is soon to be a major motion picture. Random House is set to rerelease Running the Light in commercial paperback as well as his forthcoming follow up, Petillant Brut, in hardcover in 2025. His novella, ATTABOY, was published as an Audible Original.

Sam has two comedy specials: Waiting For Death to Claim Us (available on Amazon Prime) and The Toad’s Morale (available on the Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast YouTube).
