*Future Science is a division of the Monolith Corporation tasked with collecting and presenting scientific data from the past, present and future. Doctors Karl Spaeth, Logan Lautzenheiser, Andy Gasper and Professor Chris Weir invite experts in every scientific field to come give informed talks to the public. The scientists welcome surprise guests to the stage, and show scientific educational videos.
Future Science is also a live multimedia sketch comedy show written and performed by comedians Karl Spaeth, Logan Lautzenheiser, Andy Gasper and Chris Weir. The comedians play fictionalized scientist versions of themselves, setting the show in a world where every TED Talk is given by an insane person. Their absurdist comedy is equal parts sharp intelligence and unapologetic silliness. They combine their influences of Mr. Show, Kids in the Hall and Late Night with Conan O’Brien into something utterly original.
A new hour long show has been performed the last Sunday of every month at MOTR Pub since 2014. The group has accumulated over 230 sketches and videos, and will bring the best of those out on a tour throughout the Midwest in 2016. Future Science was created with the very simple purpose of making people laugh, and they hope to do just that in your town this summer.
"Future Science is a hilarious trip through everything from love to crime, teaching us what we never knew we didn't know." - Geoff Tate (Doug Loves Movies, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson)
"I had the opportunity to catch Future Science when I was doing shows in Cincinnati, and I love it! Funny from top to bottom, and constantly inventive and fresh. Four and a half stars! I only withhold that half-star because no one gave me any nachos, or even asked if I wanted them. For shame." - Adam Cayton-Holland (Those Who Can't (TruTV), Conan, @midnight)
We're working on the nachos thing.
